DAteg's progress thread

What's up guys? I'm gonna be doing a lot to my car in the near future, so i figure I'd start a progress thread. It'll be updated as regularly as possible, whenever i get something or new pictures.

My car is 1992 LS that I got from my brother. He hadn't driven it for like 5 years, so it was just collecting dust in the garage. It was pretty ricey, but he owned it during the late 90s so :what: It's got a B20/Vtec though, so not all show. Well, as of recently, the B20/V got a bad rod knock. So this thread is going to consist mainly of the de-ricing of my car and the rebuild of my motor, as well as all my mods :) Ok, let's get into something more interesting...

Under the hood:
-B16A, rebuilt to oem spec
-ARP head stud
-ITR intake manifold
-Tenzo R intake
-no name air filter
-DC Sports 4-1 ceramic header
-custom straight through exhaust
-Magnaflow muffler
-255 fuel pump
-ITR fuel rail
-stock injectors
-NGK spark plugs
-spark plug wires
-stock radiator with a/c fan removed
-stock hoses
-a/c removed

Tranny:
-YS1 transmission
-not too sure about the flywheel and clutch set-up, but it's stage 2 something
-short shifter

Suspension:
-front: ground control fully adjustable coilovers
-rear: stock shocks with Eibach springs
-front upper Tenzo R strut bar
-rear upper strut bar

Wheels:
-Motegi 17" 4x100

Stopping:
-front: bigger, slotted rotors
-back: stock

External:
-oem front bumper with DA lip
-OEM hood
-OEM rear bumper with special cut-out for exhaust
-some wing
-paint matched side moldings
-mud guards
-clear side markers
-JDM one piece headlights
-yellow fogs

Internal:
-Tenzo R racing seats
-Sparco harness
-rear seats removed
-headliner removed
-back gutted
-ebay ITR replica shift knob :D
-Momo steering wheel
-aftermarket handbrake lever

Now for some pics :suprise:

This was when I first got it:

Then after I got some parts:

I still need stuff!

Now, as for the B20/Vtec, I'll be rebuilding it, I just don't know if I should try it myself due to lack of experience. While the motor is out, I'll be running a rebuilt stock B16 I got today for $1,300 that came with P28 ecu, oil catch can, obd1 vtec dizzy, and a shitty ass DC Sports header

Some details on the B16:
I got it from a guy on a local forum. It was a really good deal so I couldn't pass it up. Plus, my rebuilding of the B20 is gonna take forever due to my budget. The B16 was rebuilt by a local guy who knows his stuff. He rebuilt it stock to run as a DD. Here's the build thread: http://www.nyspeed.com/forums/showthread.php?t=62122
It's got
-ITR intake manifold
-rebuilt stock internals
-B16 transmission
-and other stuff that's all in the build thread

I should be pulling the B20/Vtec soon and dropping the B16 in (this weekend hopefully). The B20 is getting dropped back in once it's done, which like I said, will probably take forever. Well, all your comments/criticism/feedback is welcomed and encouraged!

WOW, looks MUCH better now!
Not a huge fan of the spoiler, but it's decent and the interior looks just great now that it's all black again (minus the seats and wheel.)
And hell, the B16 sounds like a pretty good replacement engine while you rebuild B20 haha.
Good on ya dude, I'll definitely be following your thread to keep up with your progress.:thumbs up

Thanks bro! Yeah, at first I didn't like the spoiler, but after a while, it isn't so bad. Plus it's glued tight as hell onto the quarter panels so I don't even wanna try to take if off haha. I actually just wanted to swap the motors but then I thought B20/vtec > B16 so I'm reuilding :D

I was using a brand name degreaser from the auto store (local) and it worked pretty good, you get in there and give it a good work with that you should be fine :) and maybe something to polish it up to make it look all shiny?

saw this on G2IC.

my screen name on there is imcnblu.

coming along nicely. glad to see its getting de-riced. I'd invest in a new rear bumper and get a proper DA exhaust on there.
