Ryan's DB7

This is my once grey 1995 DB7! The paint was so faded. I managed to get most of the green back with two coats of wax. I am gonna buckle down and get some clay bar and see how she looks after that.

She is bone stock with about 173,000 on the clock. I had to replace the converter, int pipe, muffler, and the rear brakes. Then I did the full tune up stuff and all the flushes just for good measure. I just plan to get her real clean looking and leave the motor stock. It will be my daughter and I's DD.

Future plans: Amber corners, pass headlight, 98+ tail lights, tint the windows 30% all around except windshield, fix some rust spots on rear wheel arches, and then roll into some suspension stuff to tighten up the ride and make it look better, and finally some nice 15" wheels.

Let me know what you all think.

DB's are coming out in force! Welcome to ClubIntegra. Nice ride, Its good to see an unmolested integra. What do you mean "once grey"? Was the clear coat peeling? I see the passenger headlight is pretty hazy, you can clean that up instead of replacing it, I know new lights are pretty expensive.

the rest of the car looked like that headlight. just extremely faded and looked like a dark grey. I was really suprised that the wax was able to get that much shine and color back.

yeah I think the headlight is toast. its got a bunch of hairline cracks in it two so i'll just get another one.

Hey I wanted to hit the windshield wiper arms and chrome molding on the rear window arches with some black spray paint. I know very little about paint and more about the actual mechanicals. Would any spray paint work or should I get a certain type? I do all the work myself (except major bodywork)

Next Db Owner Is A Poon Lol
Well you better hurry up and find one then! ;)

To the OP, what you did with the wax was put a temporary seal, so to speak. Wax is just a protective coatinto keep contaminants and the sun from damaging the clearcoat and paint. Is sounds like your clear coat was already damaged, so all the wax did was fill in the cracks. I wouldn't be suprised if you notice it starting to look like it used to in a few weeks.

You can try to repair the headlight by sanding it down and buffing it. I would suggest that before buying one, unless you have you heart set on getting a new one. You would need to wet sand the light, stepping up the grit from 800 to 1500 and finishing at 2000 grit. If you headlighds are really that bad you may want to start with 600. The whole while you want to alternate strokes, 800 g horizontal, then the 1500 vertical, etc. After the 2000 you buff it and you're done, you could put a coat of wax on it afterwards also.

Hope that wasn't too long for you, I don't have much to do at work ;)
