Hello all, I have a 92 da gsr b17a1. It has a p28 ecu in it chipped, and I think it's making the car run way too rich. Sometimes when warm it will smoke a little bit and smell like unburnt gas. My injectors are very loud and making a ticking noise which is like they are overworking themelves. So, should I replace the ecu? and which one should I get? Also should I replace my injectors? Timing? Tune-up standard maintance has been done and is not an issue. All I have done to the car is I.H.E. and lowered. I do have an Apexi afc vtec controller not insatlled yet. So any help wopuld be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Why replace the ECU? Just get it tuned.

Take that VAFC and use it as a paper weight, not on your car. It's a piece of junk.

I'm going to assume that it is a shitty ebay chip and not Neptune, Crome, or Hondata. So I would probably sell that VAFC and spend that money on one of the three I mentioned. Don't think you can tune a car with an ebay chip.

Our sponsor xenocron sells chipped ecus, and they usually come with a basemap that you choose.

Actually, I bought the car that way and have not looked at what chip it is. Why do you assume I would put crap parts on such a rare car? I may be new to this site but not imports. I'm just trying to get different thoughts on what I should do. Also why is the VAFC bad for the car anyway? I'm curious on the response. I have heard good and bad on Apexi but other's say it's bad because people don't know how to program it right. Now when you say tune my car, I only have bolt ons so do you suggest bring it to a dyno? Ok, so the p28 ecu is fine for a b17a1?

thanks.
