My G3's audio system getting spruced.......(Pics)

I have not seen many people into audio systems on this forum so I decided to post mine(in midst of a sub upgrade) to see if there are any other audiophiles here. I previously had a single 12'' Resonant Engineering "SE" subwoofer. I sent the woofer off this morning to get rebuilt/reconed(remade) into a more powerful and capable 15'' woofer. a stock SE can take around 800 watts as long as it is clean power. My rebuilt SE will be able to take 1200 watts daily which is perfect for my Hifonics 1208D. My old box is 2 cubic feet tuned to 33hz which is what most high end subs call for(Kicker, alpine type rs, Resonant engineering subs, and fi subs). New box is going to be 4 cubic feet tuned to 31hz. I am going to post all the pics of my new box build in this thread. I am going to loose practically the whole trunk with this box. In addition to the new box and sub I am going to be adding sound deadening material throughout the whole car in key areas and I am going to throw more tint on the car. Headunit is old and out dated and must go too.

Car has done a 140db on music. I hope to add another 6dm to this score and still achieve a flatter response.

Sub amp will be the same 1208d Hifonics at 1ohm for 1100ish watts.

My Infinity coax in the back and Phoenix Gold comps in the front are powered by my Alpine V12 MRV 540.






PG tweeters are gross looking so i turned them into Ninja-Tweeters...



And the aging 9883............... I hope to replace this crust within the next week or so with a 9857, 9885, 9886, or a 9887. I am just sick of it. It is like falling apart and I need a change.......

well, i got the 9886, and i've got to say, there are quite a few things annoying with it. its tolerable but still...i dont recommend u getting it..once u click the volume button accidentally u have to click it another 5 times to get back to the regular screen.
and the settings itself is confusing, and the buttons too..

and im a lil audiophile myself lol
but currently i'm looking for a stealthbox from JL audio..

Have you ever messed with older Alpines? I love the old style interface compared to the newer ones. Pioneer is kicking alpine's ass in the headunit department nowadays, I cant lie........

JLs Stealth boxes are pimp but just build you're own.

I will draw up some plans for one if you want.

SEXY SEXY setup. I am trying to do the same setup where u got amps at the seat backs. how did you mount them are they metal backing like mine or diff because I can't get them to align straight so the amp is level. My amp is pretty big being a kenwood

Amps are just screwed into the back of the seats as soon as I pre-drilled the holes and perfected the routing of wires/rcas. It takes awhile to get right but looks too legit when it is done......

All my friends asked me what shop did my clean install and I just laugh in their faces.........

yeah i like the older ones better then new..so complicated now lol..
it would be greatly appreciated if u did draw up plans for my own spare wheel sub box. but if u do draw me some plans, would you need to know specifics first? like how big the sub is, and recommended dimensions or anything? (and most likely, i will post pictures) lol

Real cool man..I didn't understand a lot of what you're talking about lol. Anyways, how come you had your sub remade bigger why didn't you just buy a bigger one?

Sub is getting rebuilt into a brand new 15 with the exact specs i need for $110 when the sub I would have to buy to be comparable would be $260.......

For real though, if anyone wants the box let me know, I am about to put it on Craigslist for next to nothing......

I bought the stuff to rewire my engine bay(Big 3) today so i will post pics when I finish that up.....

Sub is coming in tomorrow.

I need to get over to a friend's house today to get the wood cut on his table saw as I don't have my own.

Should start and finish putting the box together late tonight and I plan on cleaning it up and carpeting it tomorrow.

Assuming the box is done tomorrow I will have build pics up and videos of the new sub tomorrow night.

Very nice.. Mine is new and very very basic.. sounds good but nothing over the top.. I'll post a thread about it here soon today!
