Mounting a CB (don't ask...)

Anyways, Im mounting a CB radio in my teg, for a few reasons which not all will see fit, but I really don't care. I don't want it to be permanant but I'd like it to stay where I put it. Any ideas? Im going to need to reach the CB from the drivers seat. I can't really think of an easy place to put it, unless i go under my dash, hm...

Anyoen else have a CB in their car? I know its crazy oldschool, but i have a few wants/needs for one...

If you do that aren't you going to need an antenna for it? I'd just use walkie talkies, they're less room and easier to deal with IMO.

Yeah, imma run it like an antenna out the trunk or something. Their just magnets, and i'll only have the antenna out when i need it. And i'd love to use walkie talkies, but that's what phones are for... and what I need it for i can't use a phone, it'd be a pain in my ass....

That's true, but IMO walkie talkies would be easier than figuring out how to mount the CB and antenna and probably cheaper. Just my thoughts.

haha yeah they would be, but a Firedepartment normally doesnt exxactly use regular walmart walkie tackies... we use CB's w/ programmed channels

Don't they make 'high-tech' ones? With the digital channels on the front?

haha yeah. but i can't really afford a "high tech" one. So I got a regular one, with programmable channles, that i can connect to my computer via radio shack cable I just need to know how to mount it without drilling threw my dash lmao

I was talking about high tech walkies ha. But could you mount the cb under your seat? Prob not enough room. You could use a lotta double sided tape/velcro to get it to stay to the dash without drilling lol.

Yeah thats soemthing like what I have, sept I can talk back to them lmao. It just makes it easier so when i have to run a mobile command or something like that I can run it outta my car instead of at the station.

i could talk back on mine i was just afraid too though. since civilians are supposed to access those channels.
