Automatic Boosted?

Fat guy in a little 'teg
Dude there's a turbo'd auto LS that cruises around my town sometimes. It's ricey and pretty slow. I've heard the guy floor it - the thing had as good acceleration as my GSR when I'm not in vtec. I have a friend who knows the guy and said he's had a lot of problems with it as well. It's not worth it. Trade the car for a manual or do a GOOD auto-manny conversion.

a friend of mine had a '97 ls integra with automatic trans and a 20g turbo kit. didnt really rip hard.. kind of like a 2003 wrx. if i was you i would go with the trans swap. the process isnt really that hard and i'm damn sure you can get yourself a cheap b18b or b16 trans hydro trans.

hey when all else fails... NOS!
Lol, why would a turbo destroy his tranny, yet spray wouldn't??? You would get the same HP from spray that you would boosting a stock ls motor. The tranny would be fine. I used to spray a 75 shot all the time and my tranny shifts fine. The ls auto tranny will hold 200whp fine. Just don't neutral drop, or manual shift. You will run into more problems tuning, but it's not impossible. You could tune with a a safc and sitc.

Why don't you be patient and save up? Not everyone is baller enough to get what they want in snap of a finger.
Hell yea! I didn't have ANY money to mod my DC much. All the money I got went to fixing problems or preventative maintenance. It's gonna be the same with this DA...damn coolant and oil leaks...

But take some time out to learn stick, and then either swap the trannys or trade/sell your car. I can't stand autos anymore lol, and manuals are also cheaper in a lot of aspects and last longer as long as you take care of them.

I saw this thread and instantly thought of you. haha

your transmission wont be able to handle the power. you may want to find a gsr auto tranny
What's the difference between a stock auto LS trans, and a stock auto gsr trans? I'm sure there's nothing in either of them that makes them better or worse then the other... it's all factory honda equipment. all the auto gsr trans is going to do is give you worse gas mileage then you already will be getting

and what's so bad about an auto turbo if you keep it around 200hp? that's still a lot for a car, and as long as your torque converter holds up, and your clutches can grab it could be faster. There's no letting up off the throttle, thus meaning boost all the time which could technically make more power faster.

not saying I'd do it because tuning would probably be a bitch, but I mean there's absolutely nothing wrong with turbo'ing an automatic car.

from my understanding the gsr tranny is able to handle more hp output than the gsr thats all im saying.

whoa whoa whoa, there's an AUTO GSR transmission? I thought all GSRs were manual only!

Then again, maybe it's JDM, right?
