8k HiD's Illegal?

I've been reading everything saying they're not illegal, then others saying they are illegal. And i'm just confused. I heard they're illegal if they're aftermarket, but say if they come stock on new cars they're fine. Others say just 10k and 12k are illegal. Anyone know for sure?

8000K don't come on any stock cars. That would be pointless. Car manufacturers use HID headlights because a 4300K bulb puts out more visible light then any other light, not because it can have a "cool" color

I'm sure they are probably "technically illegal." Whether or not it matters depends on where you live. It shouldn't really matter, I've never heard of anyone getting harassed for HID lights

I think its the lower the higher output, so 4300 or something is best. 3500 is yellow but I'm not sure how good the output is.

i drive alot of unlit country roads here in ky and just want the brightest i can get without it being yellow.

4300 is oem white and is the brightest

my buddy has 10000k's and he never ever had any problems or worries being pulled over...my opinion though, get lower rating if you want higher output..my case 6500's are the best.

yup. i pointed mine up a little so you can see more. and yellow highs (non HID) help alot too
