downshifting

i've read some post in the street/track topic about ppl downshifting. When i tried to downshift my car it start to choke so how do you guys downshift w/o choking the car?

Push the gear shifter into the correct position, and let the clutch out.

it chokes? when you down shift? thats not right... i could see it choking/ hesitating when you up shift if your up shifting too early.

You have two options:

1. Double-clutch: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_declutch

2. Heel-and -toe: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heel-and-toe

I prefer to use the heel-and-toe technique.

Yeah I don't understand why it would "choke". Before corners I typically rev-match / heel-toe downshift as well.

So hard to do it in the VW because it's got no room in the pedal area and i've got big feet! lol
