Hi from oHIo
great deal if you ask me
I thought so. This is my first import (not counting an old beetle in high school). I'm really excited about it. There is lots of potential there and for the price, i have lots of room to repair without blowing past blue-book value. Of course i really don't care much about that, this is a project toy for me.

Hi from oHIo
Ok i waited an hour in the title agency, 10 minutes in the license bureau for plates, lined up insurance and went out for a short drive.

All i can say is WOW this thing handles. I give out before it does. You shouldn't try putting these through their paces if you have a lower back problem. Instant lane change at 40 with zero roll or slip. I'm talking slamming the steering wheel. yes yes, absolutely no traffic. i was giving it its test drive didnt go more than 5 over. I was actually surprised at how short the shifter throw is. I can't imagine the neccessity of going with an even shorter one. Its been awhile since i've played with a manual and had to quickshift. Its going to take some getting used to. I'm going to have to jack it up and check the motor mounts and tranns mount. I had a moment of wheel hop when i dropped the clutch on second. It was a stutter, not tire slip.

I have a quandry with the H-braces i've seen. They seem kind of flimsy having a single bolt per side on the front. are the available bolt ons even worth it, or should i have a weld in made. I'm not racing, just thinking of eventually maybe doing some time attacks and i like to play.

Hi from oHIo
Welcome man,
I'm from central Columbus, Good to see someone else from Ohio.
thank you, thank you

ok i've driven this to work all week. I'm REALLY happy with this car. I've discovered a few things to add to my list of "things to fix" but all in all nothing really terribly unexpected. I will need a new rim. My door lock on the inside drivers door is fiddly, plus the sensors issue in another thread, and don't drive through deep puddles.

The last one i found out tonight, luckily before i decided to go puddle splashing. I like puddle splashing. The cold air kit that is installed on the car had the air bypass valve NOT installed due to a reported loss of 1 hp and the neccessity of cutting 1" off the tube. The previous owner wanted every tiny bit of horsepower out of the car. Happily he still has the valve so when he finds it, it will go onto the car.

I have decided to remove the factory radio and install one i have setting on my shop bench if i can find a wiring harness kit locally this weekend. He's not going to find the code anytime soon and i want to start trouble shooting my sensor issues. Plus to get to the serial number on the headunit to take TO acura so i can get the correct code.... i have to remove the radio. I will get the code and put the radio away for safe keeping. I'll have to wait awhile before i replace the speakers but i'll go ahead and run shielded rca cables from the back of the new headunit so i don't have to take it back out when i want to install the rest of a system.

The first thing i did with this car was put the baffle into the muffler. He had it sitting , brand new- never used, in the trund space. It was short work to hit Menards and pick up a chrome bolt/nut/lock washer and bolt it in. I like it better without the brash sound. Its "relatively" quiet until you go WOT then you can hear the engine waking up. At idle its slightly louder than our stock Jeep cherokee, and quieter than my CJ5.

I was going to have a friend help me unbolt the frontend and start shifting it back but that didn't end up happening this past weekend due to family visiting. This weekend is booked also so no repair work on this car. I have to get my wifes vehicle safely drivable first and install a dishwasher.
