I have a clutch that came off of a cable transmission and I have a hydro tranny. Are the teeth different? Can I use the clutch that came off a cable tranny on my 95 hydro tranny or is it different?

Hmm...Not sure. The car was a second gen (DA) the head is a 98, block is 96. All I know is his tranny was cable. I'm guessing it was a DA GSR tranny. So probably early 90's.

The tranny and clutch are out of car. I was just really curious and wanted to find out. So tomorrow when I go back over to friends garage to work on it I can just try to place the disk over and find out. I tried to get the tranny in tonight and couldn't Wasn't sure if I was doing something wrong, wasn't lined up, or the clutch didn't work.

Cool hope it works for you. The fist time i did my clutch job it wouldnt line up either do you have that tool that will line it up before you bolt the tranny up? its like a short drive shaft that will line up the pressure plate. i had to use my old tranny that was taken apart.

Kind of, I have the clutch alignment tool but it was a little big. Since its plastic I kinda "forced" it on there haha. So I'm wondering since it didn't go all the way in if thats the problem. It didn't line up perfect.Cool hope it works for you. Well I think I found out. Some clutches are 21 teeth some are 24. I guess I'll have to see if it fits. Its possible my tranny is a 24 spine (95 LS tranny) and my clutch is a 89ish and has 21 spline. Thought I might post my findings in case anyone else runs into this.
