CA DMV -- Change of Color Notification?

G3GirL

UUUHHHH-OOOOHHHHHHH...!!!
I'm browsing DMV's site and haven't found any information or forms for this.

Has anyone in Cali changed the color of their car and know how I should go about notifying them (forms, etc.)? I've tried calling them, but it hasn't been much help. My last resort will be to go into an office, but I really don't have time to do that right now. If I remember correctly from my driving test, I have 10 days to notify them after painting...lol If anyone knows the process, lemme know.

My sticker has the paint code for nasty green and my car's white now. lol I'm pretty sure you have to change it. I may be wrong. I gotta check my registration to see if there's a color down.

God, even their automated system is retarded.

I wonder where my title is. My registration card doesn't note the color. I really think I'm supposed to change it with them somehow.

you should correcdt it... but most of the time folks dont. call the dmv hotline and talk to a "real" person. waiting time should be like 20 mins tho.... lol

other than that, i guess you can try and call your local PD for info. they should konw.... tell them your name is rebecca johnson instead of trinh, you'll get more results... lol

Is there a fee to pay to the state if you want to change the color of your car? It wouldn't suprise me at all.

I'll give them all your information. lol

My wait time was about 30 minutes with the DMV. According to the lady I spoke to, I don't have to update anything with them when changing the color of my car. I'd call back and check with someone else, but I hate waiting on the phone...lol I guess I'll just wait and see if I get pulled over.

We have fees for everything. lol It specifies on the site that there are absolutely no fees to change your address online, then DMV's site needed my CC information to charge $1.00 in order to "verify" that it's me. Not a big deal. Just now, I checked the status of my address change and it says "unsuccessful" and to snail-mail in a form. lol DMV tricked me!

if you really wanted to check davis DMV is worth the drive i think, or mac road dmv. No lines. (broadway dmv is way too crowded for me...and im afraid my car will get stolen)

Davis DMV is my choice, too. lol...I drive out that way when I need to go. I didn't know there was another office on Mack.

I haven't changed mine..
Are you supposed to?
