all motor power, questions!

Hey guys im new to the thread and to integras. I just bought a 95 ls and the guy told me that it had aftermarket pistons(dont know what compression though or if he told me the truth) port and polished intake and full exhuast. I plan on doin a compression test and tune up, but what else can i do to make power? I dont want turbo it yet cause i dont have the money right now and i want to make sure the motor is ready for boost! Any info you could give would be great. Thanks!

if the motor is build the way the guy told you...you could spray on it with an engine management system

I recommend doing ls vtec witch means getting a vtec head and running a seprate oil line to the head that would add the most power all motor or turbo for cheap that would be my first step..8)

x2. I would definitely go LS/VTEC.

The first thing I would do before modding it anymore is the compression test. That way you can figure out what compression ratio you are running. That's highly important considering you don't know what pistons are even in there.

Also what about the cams? I highly doubt someone would go through the trouble of putting in new pistons, pulling the head off, taking it apart and porting it just to stick the stock cams back in there. Or at least I would hope they wouldn't

Once you find out where you stand with the compression, pistons, cams etc.. you should make a power goal and depending on how high it is, you can decide what method (boost, n/a) that you want to use to get there.
