Tax Refund...what should i get??

Hey so I just finished my taxes and what not. Depending on how much i get i have some options...

I have to get new brake pads for the car which will run me about 200 for F&R

The other options are...

OMP TRS seat w/brackets (approx $400)
Set of rims (havent decided yet) on 225/45/15 rubber ($1000-1300)
Putting a vtec head on the B20 (1200 for type r head plus accs. = 1500 or so)

keep in mind that this car is going to be used for road racing primarly and some DD in the summer

def do the head its a big power gain on the b20. but a b16 or reg gsr head will be cheaper and just about the same as type r. a type r head is basicly a ported b16..

I'd say it depends on what you're current wheel and tire setup is. If they are decent, then build. If you're on crappy rims with crappy all seasons, then upgrade

im on drag dr-20's with kuhmo AST's lol...prolly gonna go with a kosei on toyo RA-1/R888 tires if i decided to get it

I'd probably go with the rims then. A rim and tire setup like that will have a more significant impact on the overall performance of your car.

Good tires make the single best difference performance wise out of any upgrade

I suggest you keep the DR-20s for DD and get a new set of wheels/r-comps for road racing.

That's what I'm going to do. You don't want to wear out your R-comps on the street. Then you'll just be wasting your money not using them for what they were meant to do.

my thoughts exactly...

when i went to the autobahn track in joliet, my instructor said that on my street tires that i was "maxing" out my car's performance...he said taht I needed r-comps. to go faster around the turns...and he recommended i get a racing seat as well

you can put a vtec head on a non vtec block but its a waste of a vtec head lol...:shock:

i voted wheels and tires, but a seat would also be good. youd be surprised how much of a difference being held in one position can make.
