That car doesn't have the rear valance or side skirts that should be on an R. Am I seeing that right?

ahk thanks alot but why has the person written
B18C7/B18A1, they are two different engines arent they, one is vtec and the other is not, if im not correct??
An LS/Vtec is pretty common among Hondas, just gets a little more torque. As long as it was done right it's fine. Have any more info about the "built" engine?

If I were you, I'd shy away from buying this car. It's a Frankenstein at best. Unless he can provide you with good contacts and receipts from installs, there is no telling how good the quality of the work was. It could last years or blow up a day after buying the car...why take on someone elses potential nightmare?

I know it sounds cool to own an R replica...but for that price and the mysteries that lie underneath the hood, why risk it. You could build ur own for less, the way you want it, and with peace of mind knowing re work was done correctly.

Yes but what if i had a full service on the car because the guy that is selling it to me is getting it fixed by his best mate which is a 3rd Year Mechanic for Holden but he could be a bit bias and try to rip me off so what if i go to a fully qualified mechanic to check it out??

Just wondering how much you would pay for this car??

Well it says LSVTEC so most likely he's using the LS block with the C7 head, I don't see why anyone would go the opposite way... so basically everything from the bottom is all from the LS except for the head which is only from the C7.

Its two engines mated into one. You take the top half of the C7, the cylinder head, and put it onto the bottom half of the A1, the block. This gives you what many refer to as a Frankenstein engine.

ahk so the top half of the engine is the C7 which makes it look lilke a b18c7 engine and the bottom half is an b18a1 lsvtec engine, which is non vtec??

type r's are worth so much because they are rare. think of it as a simulated diamond and a real one. they can look similar, but its just not the same. that car itself isnt worth more than 6-7k if you ask me; and thats assuming that the motor is in good shape and built properly.

$3k-4k at most. Like everyone else, you can buy one and redo it yourself for cheaper and probably better too. Don't know about you, but I think its more fun that way anyways. Not worth it for what he's asking. And here's what you're saying. "I'm going to buy it for $13k and still going to put in more money to bring it up to par." Yeah, definitely not worth it, especially for a replica. Don't be dumb. Worse case scenario, buy a gsr for $6-$7 and spend the other $7k making it real nice.
