On the topic of the supercharger. I don't know about the pounds of boost people run but I do know that people run a supercharger on stock internals. I have't done much research on it, I would post that question the motor forum, there are people that know but they might not be looking in the new people forum. The tranny should be fine, I was thinking of going all motor on my auto and I was told that the stock tranny is plenty strong unless you do some real high hp stuff.

And I feel for your bf lol, I know how it is to have a cute girl that is into cars. My wife has a GST and is hassled quite a bit lol

Edit: I would put that question in the forced induction forum lol

The civic, I don't see why it wouldn't if it tuned right, if he gets an SRT-4... no those are pretty quick and your car not being a vtec hurts it. If your looking to build a motor I would look into doing a ls/vtec motor, which would be your ls block that you have and putting a gsr head on it. Your bf's civic has vtec and that probably a big reason that he beats you now.

yea he beats me bad. he also has a lot of stuff done to his Si. plus he can drive really good. well so a lot of people says he can drive good. i personally wouldnt know. but seems like he can. but i can tell he didnt really try when i try to race him. lol

so now if i wanna do that setup you mentioned above. change out my block or whatever, wouldnt i have to switch my tranny out to a stick shift? i cant drive a standard.

Oh yeah lol, what you would have to do if you did that is switch the ecu, and the ecu that has to be used for a automatic vtec is one that only is in japan... hard to find and not cheap. Your best bet for an ls auto would prob be the super charger, I gave up on making my auto fast lol, just gunna make it look clean. Really to make a fast car in most cases it will need to be a stick, I say most cases bc mteg on here is building a automatic motor so there are a few but they are pretty rare.

yea...but like i said before. im not trying to be super fast. just fast enough you know? lol and i want my car to sound good too at the same. my boyfriend told me to look into the skunk2 catback. but im thinking about just getting the muffler and take it to a shop here locally and tell them to make me a custom full exhaust with the muffler. my boyfriend knows the owner of that shop so i'll get some discounts. :)

and as far as looking good.....that is a MUST!! lol i just made a thread on posting some pics of 4 door integras. so hopefully people will start posting there soon. lol

but yea.... i think i'll look into the supercharger kit? what brand should i look into? boyfriend said jackson racing. is that good? then maybe after a supercharger i'll get the basic intake header and exhaust combo. and call it quits for performance. lol

Hi from oHIo
jackson racing advertises their basic kit as developing an extra 58 hp on the stock acura integra gsr motor, i dont know how much it would develop on the non-vtech engine.

You can't run a supercharger on an auto. Your going to eat that tranny up, on top of that good luck finding software to tune it. You'll be stuck with an afc hack since all the piggyback systems won't work with auto ecus. It's really not even worth the money. If you want to keep it as an auto I would just work on suspension upgrades and maybe some nice wheels.

So welcome to the site and hopefully you'll stick around.

EDIT: Listen to your boyfriend and get a good catback system if you want an exhaust. Local muffler shops suck, they crush bend the pipe and use shitty canisters that they oxy-setaline weld to your piping. It's just a whole lot of bad. Your car will be slower then with the stock exhaust and it will eventually rust, break, and then fall apart and sound like shit.

so it wont work? well that sucks then. well i guess i'll just get some sound into. maybe just a short ram and exhaust. then make it look good. my boyfriend knows what to do with my car and i'll just see what he does. he is gonna be helping pay for all my parts that i get.

If you can find a way to tune it, ok, but that's going to be the main problem. The trannys can last if you upgrade the torque convertor and put a cooler on it. How reliable everything is all depends on how much work you want to put into it.
