99 integra exhaust size + hfc question

hi everyone new guy here. :wavey:
picked up a 99 integra 5spd as a beater. and i have no clue about anything with honda or acura. so i need your help

now first off i dont care about how loud or how legal this will be or whatever.

current mods are aem cai and obx headers.

i want to switch out the exhaust im going to do a custom exhaust pipe..... what size should i get 2.5" 2 1/4" 3" or any other size for the most power gains that na motor??

1-
i am planning on removing the resonators, and either just going with the stock cat back with piping with a universal muffler.
2-
to get a HFC or a test pipe for the cat and then go with the back piping with a universal muffler.

oh and im just going to go with ebay parts on this one, so if anyone knows any decent inexpensive products please recommend.

which options would you guys recommend?

Welcome. You can do whatever you want, but if you're going to get a new exhaust system, you might as well go with bigger piping.

thanks so what size would you recommend i know on previous cars going bigger wasnt necessarily better since back pressure and power loss would occur.

Since your motor is pretty much internally stock, I would recommend 2.25-2.36".

You're exhaust system is going to be incredibly loud and raspy with the parts/setup you're choosing. You need to measure the outlet size of the OBX header and buy an exhaust of equal or greater diameter. The outlet is most likely larger than stock, and you're bottlenecking your exhaust right now and restricting airflow. Without any resonator you're car is going to be quite loud and with cheap quality parts....its going to sound like a bumblebee.

well i wouldnt expect anything good for 30 bucks thats considered a performance part.

i just want to let you guys know i dont care about quality or finish or look. thats what i have my other car for this is just a beater to go out and beat for the winter time.

just wanted some input on piping size and if that 5 dollar ebay product will fit so at least i have a cat on the car as opposed of running a straight pipe from the header back.

We just don't want you to waste your money oh a shitty part that will break in no time, then you'll end up replacing it. That's all. But all in all, it's your car and your money. Do as you wish.

Matt, is 2.5 really too big for stock internals? i thought it was more border line

ya i know what your saying if i wanted to do it right for the acura then id just go all DC or greddy through out. the car or my car to me is just not worth it. just looking for something to free up some horepower and if i get 1 whp from this then so be it.

i know what you guys mean, i already have my money pit 07 g35 nothing ebay on that. and my previous subaru impreza.

the ac is just for the winter months to go out and be funny make some videos donuts and daily commute to annoy people. haha . thats all.

so im guessing that the part will fit to replaace the cat and go straight pipe throughout. ill order it i guess and get it all installed and ill update with some vids after hahah.

anyone have any other suggestions so far??

you arent going notice any power difference from a 30$ exhaust bro. might be better with just a test pipe or straight piping with stock exhaust
