Where to mount amp?

I'm installing a stereo into my 2000 2-door tomorrow, and would like the amp to be hidden. In my previous vehicle, I had the amps mounted under the rear floor, but it doesn't appear that this will be possible in the Integra, due to the spare tire (looks more like a bicycle tire, than a car tire!).

The only other option that I've seen so far is under the front passengers seat. Is there any place that I'm missing where you've mounted an amp, out of sight, before?

Oh yeah, it's pretty compact, and will definitely fit under the front passengers seat, but I don't want someplace so obvious.

If under a seat isn't hidden enough for you, I don't know what to tell you. Who are you trying to hide it from?

if you have the hatch cover just put it on the back seat. If not i would say rear floor board(with tinted windows of course, or try under the seat. but if soemthing happens electronically that isn't a quick fix. Just something to think about.

Heat isn't really a concern, it was in a sealed environment before, and never had a problem with heat.

I just want it concealed and out of harms way. Under the seat my be the best bet. No dice on under the back seats, eh?

No room under the back seat, i would just put it under the pass seat and it should be fine.

just because it hasnt gone wrong cos of the heat yet doesnt mean it wont. they need to keep cool. trunk should be fine with a hatch cover.

mines mounted to the side of my box and its fine if you have a big box mounting it to the top of the side shouldnt make a difference and it should stay pretty safe

It should be fine underneath the passenger seat. Just beware, a lot of times rear seat passengers like to stick their toes underneath the front seat.

Why not just to the rear seatback? That's hidden enough.

That's the easiest spot to put an amp if you don't want to build something custom. And if the amp does get warm, just put the seat back down, and you can put it back up when you leave the car, it's hidden.

Well, it's under the passengers seat. I didn't want it in the cargo area because of, well, cargo.

Just waiting on slow pokey UPS guy to bring me the rest of my stuff so I can finish this!

The only other thing I can think of is building a false floor. I attempted it behind my front passenger side seat and built it but decided to scrap the idea. A false floor in the trunk/hatch would be really hard, unless you used hinges to connect wood that could turn out. Its hard for me to explain but the trunk floor is hard to deal with in the integra from my experience. You cant exactly just cut it out and place it in, getting it in there is harder than I thought

there is a decent amount of room behind the plastic paneling if you wanted to get creative with some mounts.
