Clear bras have cons as well...mainly depending on the quality of the material and installation. Cheap bras will sometimes turn a yellowish color. Also keep in mind that rocks and bugs may get lodged in the bra whereas they could be easily cleaned off of paint/leather bra.
There is a good amount of work needed to maintain a clear bra as well. You have to keep it clean and watch what products you clean them with. Waxes with coloring in them will stain the clear bra and leave a colored haze effect. Also...installers may accidently leave razor marks in your paint which could result in peeling paint and rust down the road. They may also bubble as well as imperfections in your paint before installation could create bubbles down the line.
There are really 2 companies on the market right now, 3M (which have a 3 year guarantee) and Invisi-mask (which have a lifetime warranty). So the yellowing thing isnt an issue so long as you dont buy the ebay brand.
Ive logged plenty of highway miles in the south(my front end ends up covered) and let me tell you the bugs rub right off, ive never heard of bugs getting logged in the material. Again, prob a ebay brand issue.
Again, when using the the aforementioned brands you can care for your paint/bra just as you would a normal car. Its those ebay brands that screw-up.
Installation is a bitch....I did all of mine myself, but then again I ended up coating most of the car for less than a person would pay to buy and then install just a front bumper kit. The integra bumper would be easy tho, mine. lol hell!
pics of the clear bra?? i never knew they existed.
see it? lol
My paint would be all chipped up with the driving I do, but it looks fresh as the day it was painted still. The only downside to clear bra is the cost. Cost of the product and the install. But other than that its amazing! Id coat my whole damn car if I could afford it.
