Circuit Hero Shift Lever Extender and SS Shift Knob Review

After doing some spirited driving on the touge for the past couple of weeks, I've decided to write a review about the Circuit Hero shift lever extender. I'm sure many of you are curious about it as well. First of all, this product may not be suitable for everyone. At first, I wasn't used to the higher position of the shift knob and felt a bit awkward. I guess it was because I kept thinking about it. But after driving on the touge, the awkwardness simply went away. I noticed that I was shifting more smoothly and heel-and-toe downshifting became 10x easier. I don't know what it is, but I just feel so much more comfortable. And with the shift knob being much closer to the steering wheel, I am certainly shifting a bit faster than usual. I highly recommend this product.

I also purchased the Circuit Hero SS shift knob. The added weight from the knob makes shifting feel more solid. It feels way better than my Spoon Duracon knob that I used to have. I recommend using a weighted knob to use in conjunction with the shift lever extender. Either Circuit Hero or Skunk2 will do fine.

but yeah to add to matt's description i witnessed this first hand, and must say that i was too skeptical of how the extender worked. I must say i was impressed to the fullest! first of all, matt's style of driving is to heel toe downshift where as i would revmatch downshift. While he would downshift you cant feel anything at all, its like an automatic car shifting its that smooth. the circuit hero is amazing if it can do that, from the passenger's point of view i would also give this a 5/5

I dunno... Sounds kinda weird to really make that much of a difference. I'd honestly rather try it out then buying it. if they go hella cheap or I get a deal I might consider it, but I'm skeptical. lol

The idea is to have the shifter closer to the steering wheel so there is less time in transition and you can keep both hands on the wheel while you're scraping mirrors

i would imaging that it would be better with a short shifter

I know that, but now that I have sway bars I'm not so sure about the scraping my mirrors.

I do get the making it closer to the steering wheel, but I mean the smoother shifting part I don't get.

i had my circuit hero extender on my stock shifter and it was too long of a throw, so i got a fidanza short shifter and energy suspension shifter bushings, the shift is crisp, short and right next to my steering wheel i love it.
