this is comparing a 16g (a little smaller then 18g) to his new hx35 which is only a 50 trim, i dont know, they are just super small
Trim size doesn't hold much relevance when comparing two completely different turbos. The "trim" is just a relationship between the inducer and exducer of the compressor or turbine wheel. The "trim" holds no relationship to the physical size of the turbo. That may be a 50 trim turbo but it uses completely different and larger wheels and housings. To put the "trim" theory to the grave, consider the 18G has a 55 trim wheel. That measurement is only relevant when comparing similar wheels.
For example, the MHI Big 16G, 18G and 20G all share the same 2.680" compressor exducer. But with different inducer diameters, you end up with them being a 50 trim, 55 trim and 60 trim respectively
Keep in mind that the picture you posted is comparing a good 350hp turbo to a good 550 hp turbo. But they are both "50 trim" turbos LOL
