TeggyBear went to the track! Times......

Went to Famoso Raceway on saturaday............... I only got 2 runs in and they both sucked balls.

edit- Mods: Intake, 4-2-1 Header, 10.3mm spark plug wires-(overkill), NGK Iridium plugs, exhaust cutout, royal purple synthetic motor oil, & Password:JDM resevoir tank covers ?.? LOL...

1st run with a bogged launch- 16.140 @ 87mph... Ran against a freaking Mistu Evo.....
2nd run with WAY too much wheelspin- 16.877 @ 86 mph... Ran against a GS-R that I couldv'e beaten on a good run....

ironic that my runs were on exact opposite ends of the spectrum of wheelspin.

Okay, reasons for slow times:

1 full tank of gas + trunk full of spare tools and cooler /w drinks- Dr.Pepper FTW
2 bogged 1st launch, major wheelspin 2nd run
3 1st time @ track = no practice
4 I had forgotten to put my "track intake" on
5 Bald / old & cracked ass tires

It pisses me off that I got such slow times...... I know my car should be running mid 15's! ugh, next time. Next time I'm taking my Jetta too. My jetta still needs new motor mounts so I couldn't take it...... Oh wells, we all had fun seeing some crazy cars there. My buddy's EG hatch with an ITR and Full Race turbokit ran an 11.9, but we know he should be running mid-11's.

I will post up the video's + timeslip later today. (Can't remember the 60' or RT, etc.)

EDIT- Okay, pics of the TimeSlip and videos...... I'm car # 795......
wtf Photobucket, you were supposed to rotate these pics....

not bad for 1st time at the track. are you preloading? work on that RT ;) even though it doesnt have anything to do with your time. with practice you should be running mid 15 no prob. my old DA is 100% stock LS motor, 160k, running stock intake, stock header, etc only a chiped ECU is running 15.4 and i was so jealous that he got a .001 r/t last time at the track. keep it up!

up or down? lol..... Yeah, it needs new ones. Thinking of either just something like Falken 912's or Nitto NT-555's.... I had my crapy tires up front because I didn't want to get a ton of grip and snap an axle. I've got 2 new Fuzion ZRi's out back....

must have been fun!.... i haven't even got a chance to go to the track in the last 2 years. work and plus its a bit of a trip.

btw i suggest you get something better than 912s.... for a street daily driver tire they're great but they break loose too easily.

maybe an all summer tire.

Well, I mean, i don't want to blow an ishload of cash for tires either, because i need them in 195/40 or 45 r16's..... My current tires rub the fenders.......

just buy 2 tires for the track. throw them on some steelies.

btw what size tires are you running now?

205/50 r16 and one 205/55 r16. Yep, retard last owner got a wrong sized tire................................ Meh, I thought about buying Honda Fit wheels, I hear they make drag radials that fit them. Or just some steelies and get some nice Yokohama Direzza's or something. Or Nitto NT-01's

yeah... severely wrong....

if you still want a 205 width tire, the correct size would be 205/45/16

195/45/16 is a bit smaller than stock and 195/50/16 is a bit larger than stock

btw they dont make the NT-01 in the size you need. I was actually checking up on their new NT-05 which is a cross between their NT-555 and their NT-01 but they dont make a tire size that you could use either.

anyways they do have the NT-555 in 205/45

LOL I was just kidding. The NT-01 isn't a drag tire anyways. I've got a quote for two tires for the NT-555's for like $300, but I think it was in 205/40/16....... Do you know if they make the nt-555 in a 195/45?

:D I was referring to the wrong tire sizes the previous owner put on..

thats kind of expensive... btw they only make the NT-555s in one size for 16" wheels which is the 205/45/16. I found them online for $106 each tire. at http://tires-easy.com/ $110 from www.discounttiredirect.com

Is that with balancing and everything too? I think my quote was everything, installed, etc.
its still expensive considering more places will do mounting and balancing for $15 a tire. and since you're only installing 2... it should only be about $30-$40
