Painting head gasket

I was wondering if you have to use a special paint for your head gasket or piping in your car?

noooooo dont use silver spray paint it is a myth it doesnt help seal at all, it only covers up the layer that bonds the head to the block and messes it up, its a huge misconception.

I don't know what the op is talking about but I use copper coat on all my headgaskets and none of them have ever leaked yet. Not a myth in my book.

if so, ask 8urcivic hes pretty much the best at it in my book for sure.
