Hey guys I was wondering i have future plans for drag racing my Daily Driven 98 integra GSR. Its got 95k miles..i just replaced timing belt...i change the fluids regulary...and take in for servicing every now and then. And i was wondering how safe is it to drag race my daily driver? I plan on keeping it street legal and attending the local street legal drags every now and then. I was just wonderin how harsh it could be on my car becuase it is my DD and i need it for work and stuff...but i really have the urge the start drag racinig...Also if you think its ok *What codtions do you think would be the best to drag race in to keep the cars life the longest* Ex. "What rpm's should i launch at for minimal stress on the car and a good 1/4 time?

Thanks guys!

aslong as you look after the car and keep it in good condition with checking over the engine regurly and changing oil frequently you should be all good.

If you want your car to last the longest then don't drag race. Drag racing has the most detrimental impact on everything in your car. Launching at any rpm is going to be bad, the sudden and violent shock isn't good for anything on the car. Obviously the higher you launch it and the longer you let it tach out the harder it's going to be for it.

ok but what would be the best rpm's to launch at in your opinion...like a safe balance of good time and bad for the car

the best launch is whatever gets the fastest times, with least excessive wheel spin off the line. if your car is in good shape, dont worry about taking it to the strip. you really dont have time to think about that kind of stuff when you are at the track. worst experience i had was i fried a clutch off the line. ran a 22 something

Go practice, this is retarded. If your going to drag race you want the fastest time you can get. There's no point going out there if your not going to push your car as hard as you can.

If you want to get the best time with your can do a few things. Depending on what tires you have you can lower your tire pressure, it might help a little. Are you going to heat them up(burn-out). If you do you can launch a little higher. You'll always want to slip the clutch a little, just dropping it is never a great idea. If you had a good launch and have your tires heated up good you should be able to give it full throttle from the get go. You should also preload your axles.

Practice makes perfect man.
