ticking from bottom of motor

hey everybody,

as the title states, i hear a ticking from the bottom of the motor. in otherwords, i'd stick my head under the front bumper and it would be a very evident tick.... i have an 00 gsr. i recently did a head swap to another fresh gsr head due to a bent valve from a mis-shift. (top of 3rd, to 2nd.. and didnt catch it in time.) anyways, i've remedied that problem. i was told that the tick i hear could just be because my upper timing belt cover is off.. or maybe even an exhaust leak near the header. i'm worried that there may be another problem as a result of my misshift. it happened just about a year ago.

anyways, after the head swap i compression tested again and the results were perfect. i really dont know what to think... my paranoia is killing me. lol.

anybody with ideas? so far i've gotten injector tick (which i know its not. definitely not.. i know what that sounds like.), a reputable tuner around here told me that the sound may just be audible due to my upper timing belt cover off (i dont get it...), and lastly, maybe a slightly spun bearing (can it be slightly fucked up?? lol) i've spun a bearing before, and yes, i was in a dsm. haha we all know those jokes.

any and all input would be greatly appreciated. happy thanksgiving!

nothing from nowhere
most manifold leaks will make a ticking noise. a spun bearing is instant death for a motor. use a piece of heater hose to listen to where the noise is coming from.
