What happened to my gas mileage?

ok guys i know we get threads on this all the time. but i have hit all the normal bases of improvong mileage. i use injector cleaner every oil change atleast, i just replaced the fule filter like 6 thousand miles ago if not sooner, i run mid-grade (its an ls) my air filter is relativly clean. and i wanna say that on 75 percent of stop lights i granny shift(2000-3000 rpm) i do make a 50+ mile commute twice pretty much every week if not every other week, and 80% of that commute is highway. and then im doin 80 cosistantely not really constantly accelerating and deccelerating. even with all this im averaging only 250 miles per tank... what am i not doing or is this what i should expect?

Faulty o2 sensor maybe.

yah o2 sensors are actually a big part of it, just ask a pro.

change your spark plugs / cap / rotor, yes it makes a difference

When's the last time you changed your timing belt?

If the o2 isn't throwing a CEL then it is fine. The o2 sensors will throw the CEL if they are faulty, dying, dead....etc.

250 is pretty crappy. I would get atleast 300 out of my GSR even raping it and consistently running 80-85 on the freeway.

I'd probably start by replacing some ignition components if it hasn't been done. Plugs, wire, cap, rotors etc.

yeah about 6k mi ago

yeah they are all about 35

well do that, and ease off on the gas.

im gettin almost 300 out of a tank in my gsr/type r with lots of goodies on it.. and thats city driving. try running 40psi in your tires if your commuting on the freeway
