Im not much of a Honda/Acura fan but im gettin into an integra next month. I would like to know what exactly im getting into underneith my hood. The engine looks like a b20 but I dont understand why someone spends the money to turbo that engine. I cant check the engine code cuz I dont have the car in my posession. Its got a blown rod in it so I am going to replace the engine. I just need to know what I have or what I should get.

ur going to have to figure out for sure what type of engine it is
and there is good reason to turbo a b20
but to the untrained eye the b16 b18 and b20 can all look similar

but other options are
b16
b18a
b20
b17
k20..and more.
but i <3 the b18b

I dont need every engine listed for the car. I already know what engines there are. Just want to know what i should get. I dont need the most power at first. I plan on doing the audio/visual first then appearance. Engine will come last. I have a turbo for it to get me by in the meantime. The engine is blown and this will be a daily driver. I dont want to spend $4000 up front for an engine but I dont want to spend $600 either. Just want some power.

Vtec is not the only way to make power. Its also not the deciding factor that makes an engine worth while.
Personally, I would prefer a non vtec motor if Im going boost, but thats just me.
