Exhaust piping size for my mods.....

Unless you plan on getting some high compression pistons, I wouldn't get the 2.5 inch piping, nor would I get aftermarket IM or TB, and stick with a mild cam like OEM ITR cams. 2.25 is a bit on the small side for a GSR with upgraded cams. 2.36 sounds like it'd be ideal for what you have planned, unless you'll be doing a piston upgrade, then I'd get the 2.5 piping. Be sure you get a muffler with 2.5 inch piping if you do get the 2.5 exhaust.

I gave this thread a better title, cuz I agree it's not just another exhaust thread. lol

i had this welded onto my da

the smallest size they make is 2.5", it is a straight thru design (no baffles), and I think it sounds great. this is what i had on my black ek, just a magnaflow muffler welded in to replace the OEM muffler in the axel back. its like $60 - $80 for the muffler.

if you can find a shop to do 60mm piping that's best. but if you cant find a shop that does it and you have to choose between 2.25 and 2.5, go all 2.5 inch piping and get 1 of these. or for sleeper look get a vibrant universal muffler.

oh and its pretty small so you can tuck it into tight places. lots more room compared to OEM da muffler that usually fills up this whole space. but its pointless now the guy that bought my car is running an open header/straight pipe. and he got pulled over 6 times since he has had my old car. he is messin her up.

nice pedo.....i'm st8 off magnaflow tho. i only like the sound of those on BMW's. The muffler i'm picking is nice, quiet and loud at the high end. I'll let yall see when i get it done.

So basically you went rice and just got a muffler welded on your stock exhaust?:D Just saying because most of those cars you see that sound super shitty is because it isn't a full exhaust and only a fart can on stock pipes..

Idk, I wouldn't consider Magnaflow a domestic only exhaust..Flowmaster maybe, but not Magnaflow. And to jcun, I've heard Magnaflow on an Integra and it sounded great..

I use to have a Magnaflow too.5x8 oval style, 2.5 inch, straight through.

I loved the sound of it, but was too loud for my taste, I have a 2.5 inch twin pass muffler now. I like my exhaust as quiet as possible unlike most people, I think.

I agree, I like quiet exhaust. I don't feel that straight through..what do you call them? N1 style?..mufflers make any more power than what you had anyways.

to red98teg i'm not saying that magnaflows are only domestic...never said that nor implied it. I just said i liked how they sounded on Bimmers because i used to own one with a full magnaflow exhaust.

and to heykosal i've also heard the magnaflow on two civics with GSR swaps. Didnt like them because they were too loud. i like my exhaust quiet too..

why you hatin?

my DA was from Hawaii, so the stock muffler was all rusted to shit and had rust holes in it. All of the piping was fine, just the muffler needed to be replaced. I was looking for an OEM replacement muffler, but couldn't find one, so my cheap solution was to just get a magnaflow muffler welded in to replace it. a lot better than hearing a bunch of exhaust leaks IMO. also, I never really liked loud exhaust. i wanted stock, I even kept the stock tips.

any N1 exhaust sound super shitty, even a lot of the full piping N1 exhaust. i would only get one if i was turbo. but if you are just replacing a muffler then whats wrong with magnaflow?
