Exhaust piping size for my mods.....

Okay i know the title says exhaust thread but its more on piping. I've read around and saw that 60mm or 2.36'' piping is best for N/A. I'm running pretty much stock, with the basic bolts ons, I/H, and will be upgrading IM, TB, and cams in the future. I'm getting custom piping done next week to an exhaust. My question is 2.25 or 2.5 piping? thats all the shop has to offer. i'm iffy on going 2.5 because i'm afraid it'll be too big, but then the 2.25 is stock on type R's and afraid thats a little too small. any inputs guys?

i think youd be just fine with the 2.25 but you could go with the 2.5 if you were planning on a full n/a build later

Getting an aftermarket intake manifold and throttle body will result in power loss unless you upgrade your cams. 60mm will be fine for now. 2.5" is only necessary if your motor is somewhat built. Depends on the extent of the build.

^ Agreed. If cams and internals are on your list, 2.5 shouldn't be bad...

Are you against buying aftermarket?

buying aftermarket as in the cat back? or ? but either way no i'm not opposed to aftermarket parts, its just the money issue right now. 3-500 for catback, or 250 for custom catback to an exhaust of my choosing. second one fits me....lol

WTF? Dude can't make you a 60mm from scratch? And I recommend getting TIG welded piping.

i will have to do some research then....another question...for he exhaust i'm getting the only inlets available are 2.25 and 2.5. If i do find someone to do the 60mm which inlet should i order? i would assume the 2.25 right?

60mm. Got to keep it consistent.
