fixed;)

anyways, it IS somewhat normal..I made a thread about this a while back and someone explained that in older VTEC engines it is completely normal due to the wear and tear already on the cylinders, rings..and such.

Just a puff though, just a puff. If your car is like spewing smoke while VTEC is engaged, I'd advise you to check it out.
exactly. thank you :)

as far as i know all vtec motors burn oil when engaged in vtec. so it would be normal. try putting some of the lucas motor lubricant into your motor, it helps with burning oil.

You're running rich. My used to blow black smoke before.
well funny you said that i was running a p30 map revised from 1.6-1.8 with the fuel settings in crome. now im running a stock type-r map. and when i was beating on it last night i could smell it as bad but with 5% tint i couldn't tell there was smoke so ima do it today and see.

i have a compression tester but i've been too lazy to mess with it. work on cars all day at work then when i go home the last thing i want to do is pop the hood on mine. ill do it soon enough.

but i think the last time i tried to run a compression test on my car the tester was leaking. i also have a leak down tester i need to use on it to but i need to read the book on it.

i lied my car actually burns blue smoke not black. abut if i get the rpms up there around 7-8k and let off the gas it just pours smoke out. my friend i bought it from said it all started when he put royal purple in it.

usually a little puff of smoke when it engages is normal, but not a consistant cloud out the tailpipe when you are in upper rpm's. least this was the case in my prelude, and in every other gsr / vtec motor I have seen.
