Carbon Fiber

Not to go back on subject, but you will get a small (very very very) small amount of whp back. Think about it scientifically. A normal metal gas cover probably weighs in at 1/6-1/4 lbs. The cf one probably weighs probably around 1/8-1/6 lbs. Most would agree that for every 10 lbs that you lose out of your car, it would have the same effect as gaining 1whp. Do the math and you would be dropping between 1/6 and 1/8lbs. Therefore the gas cap would equal around 1/240- 1/640 whp.

It's just simple math. Bacially you will get more out of taking a big shit in the moring than put the c/f gas cover on.
LMAO!!!! i guess i now know what to do when i wanna go faster... not buy a carbon fiber gas door thats for sure. and i know its just simple math, i just dont think anyone else woulda taken the time to do it...

Wait... What?

maybe you should do the simple physics and figure out why noone else bothered doing the math.. a slight breeze to either side or your a/c being on would negate that hp...

Dont lie to this guy. Look man its simple.

for ever 1lb of weight taken off the car is like adding 2.3 hp. So lets say the gas cap just saved 2lbs. Take 2x2.3= 4.6 Stock LS puts down..what 140hp? so Take 140+4.6= 144.6 hp.

Same effect as gaining 1hp and actually gaining the power is different.

Plus I don't think that applies here because the OP thinks that all carbon fiber is just sheets of carbon laid over OEM steel..
