SeaFoam Engine cleaner?

What are some of the bad side-effects you guys have heard? I just heard that it causes problems, never anything specific. From your guys' posts, it's making me feel like getting some. So if it cleans out the motor and stuff, since we are going to change the oil this weekend, should I run the seafoam in the oil BEFORE the new oil change?

And, earlier you guys said not to put it in the oil, how come?

if you put somethin in your oil, buy a bottle of engine flush and let your car run with that in the oil for about 10 minutes. then once those 10 minutes are over, drain ALL the oil. Get as much out as you can. Then run ATLEAST 1 quart through and let that drain out. This oil doesnt have to be anything special the cheapest stuff you can find for this quart is fine. then add your new oil and that will clean a lot of that shit.

We always buy 1 extra quart of oil,, and use 1/2 of the bottle to help flush out the old oil. Then next oil change we use the rest of that 1/2 of bottle.

What about in the fuel tank? Is that a good idea?

my personal experience with seafoam is it made a tiny difference in the butt dyno and definatly in mpg. the engine does feel better at idle etc. i had Honda do it at 100,xxx miles. so im sure it was done right with the vaccume line etc. White Smoke out of the fart can FTMFW! haha

im currently at 112,xxx and no problems here. id recomend it.

take the line off your brake booster if you're going to do it... Doesn't really matter what vacuum line, but that's the biggest. lol

as for the fuel tank... I'd rather just throw some fuel injector cleaner in my tank. I dunno about seafoam there. Never tried it. Only in the combustion chamber.

So if I get some, I should just use it in the vacuum line? Not fuel tank or Oil?

I recently put some 104+ Octane Booster in, last gas tank, and it says it's got fuel system cleaner in it. (I got the +6 octane number one BooYah!)

How much would you guys recommend pouring down the vacuum line?

i put 1/3 in each of

gas
oil
vacuum line

i did the vacuum last and right when its about to run out let the car die...sit for a few min...then start up drive around for 10 min or so still stops smoking and then change the oil...i changed my plugs with it as well

We already changed the plugs like 500 miles ago. NGK Iridiums!

Okay, what the hell, I think we're gunna try the Seafoam stuff. The teg has accumilated enough mileage to need something like that. We'll let that Seafoam stuff run through for a few minutes before changing to the 2nd Royal Purple change. Royal purple is something I will swear by.

Wow, tons of info on this stuff. Nice thanks!

So it's normal for it to start stalling and shooting smoke everywhere right? Don't want to do it and get a nice surprise.

If it starts to stall give it less Seafoam.

I'd pour the seafoam into a container, and feed the vacuum line(leading to the IM of course) enough Seafoam to keep the engine on the verge of stalling.
