unhook vtec?

i found a ls/vtec motor for cheap but i don't want to run vtec quite yet since its my first car, is it okay to unhook the v-tec cylinoid and the car run fine?

and im gonna have my t3/t4 turbo on it and with a ls motor it was pushing 250whp so i don't want v-tec and the turbo to kick in at the same time

If you want to get rid of VTEC, just get a VTEC killer cams setup. That will remove VTEC 8)
