Steering Problems

So i am trying to find out as to why my friend's DC is having steering problems, Heres whats going on. he has the car with a B18C5 motor and the PS steering pump is not connected. The other night we did a touge run and after the run he said that he was having problems on the straight away heading home. He says its like when your steering jumps when you hit a curb or something in the road when you have PS, it always jerks to the left. The tie end rod was just replaced after the problem occoured. but it still happens after about 5 minutes...im thinking its either the Rack and Pinion (may have been abused because of ps not being connected) or some bushings on his suspension. what do you guys think?

it always pulls to the left, or every once in a while it suddenly jerks to the left? he probably needs an alignment. also, all his tires match / have even treadwear?

does he have directionals? if you put directionals on the wrong side, the car will be very unstable at high speeds... i know i did it... luckily i found out before i died, or even worse ruined my tires... lol

ya like dc2b18 said its deffinately an alignment issue....its happened to me many times because if the wheels arent aligned straight like they are supposed to be then whenever you hit little bumps or go over uneven places on the road it tries to turn the wheel that way

tires are good it was just all of a sudden, we just put in powersteering and we have all the fluids at good levels....alignment is good as well. So im thinking that im gonna check the ball joint from speedin's advice.

and yeah hes tryign to sell it james and pado

WTF what does he want now? i'm tellin you get an alignment, just because it *looks* good, doesn't mean that it is.

an alignment could be the issue but even if it alignment if the car drives straight and out of no where it just jerks to one side then its doubttul.
that's what alot of people told me on my 96ls and took my car to a shop and my alighnment is perfect found out it was the lower ball joint was not pressed all the way down and when driving out of no where it jumps out of place the wheel tilts and pulls almost as if I jerked the wheel to that side it does it more during turns though
and it also does it during hard take off.
