Ok first question I was looking today at this one place where all the people around the area bring in their cars for sell. I saw 3 Acura Integra's, two were automatic (I want manual) and 1 was a manual but man im such a noob still with cars. I was looking for an Acura Integra GSR but I have no clue how to tell the difference from a LS,RS and a GSR.

Second question I was looking at the motors and was trying to find VTEC written somewhere. It just said Honda motors co. So I was like... uhh 1998 Acura Integra with no VTEC motor... I guess it's not the original motor? I'm really confused about this, I don't want to get ripped off in case I do buy a Integra, how do I know im looking at the right type of car with the righ good motor? What am I supossed to look for if im looking for a good Integra. I have no clue how a B18a,b,c motor looks like. It doesn't show anything in google for pictures or reference.

Not all 98s are VTEC. The vin will also start with JH4DC2 if it's a GSR

Vtec should stick out like this.

The stamp on the block is to the left of the exhaust manifold. LS engine will be B18B, GSR is B18C1.

there are actually quite a few threads here on this site that'll help you distinguish between all the different trims. try searching different keywords. i suggest browsing the site a little, getting more familiar with integras, and then going car shopping. :thumbs up

welcome to the site!

To Ominous, thanks man! That really helped, that was the type of motor I was looking for but never found. I'm going to start checking for that now.

And yeah i'm going to try exploring a little more for sure :)

If you are car shopping, I strongly encourage you to find a stock car over a modified one, at least when it comes to engine and suspension.
