I decided to go for it and start saving up. I don't want to spend 5 grand but i want something that will be pretty nice, and i'm not a racer and dont go to the track, i just want some more power. I have a 2.5" exhaust and I would like to keep it, and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions of what kind of shit i should get that wont cost me a million bucks to put together. I have a 2000 GS non-vtec with 60k on the engine

get an afi kit. they are only about 2600 right now and are an amazing deal. you will still need injectors and tuning software, which will be another 250 for injectors and 150-600 depending what route you go for tuning. and then you will need to get it tuned ~ $450ish. so expect around 4k for a good reliable kit thats properly tuned and setup

Wait... What?
yea your going to be flirting with at least 4 for a turbo set up so you might just want to save up a little more and get the one you really want.

how much more power can you expect out of a setup like that after spending 4 grand. how much boost can it even handle on stock internals?

is the car your DD or not?

also if you want to put in the time and effort you can peice together a nice kit for a good price

i think that you should do a little bit more research, or start, if you're really serious about doing this project, expecially if you have to ask if your internals can handle the stresses of a forced unduction setup. anything not meant to be turboed aren't made to have a turbo bolted to them. you can't rely on a DD with a turbo setup wiith stock internals if your expecting big hp gains, if you're just looking for 30-50hp gain on low boost, then maybe just a snail would be appropriate and a stock block might do it for you. And power gains isn't just measured on the size or price that the turbo you decide to get. you have to put in time and money to tune right, and unless you're a skilled professional with your own dyno, then i suggest taking your car to a reputable shop to get it done right. but you can definitely find turbo hits lower than 4k, check out synapse, greddy, and rev hard. they are companies that i know that make specific turbo kits for b-series engines. then there comes your internals: forged pistons, sleeves, rods, cs, cams...etc. then theres bolt-ons like injectors and fuel pumps, and these are just among the important mods you need to consider in order to build a reliable setup for a DD, although some of the stuff i listed might be overkill for a DD, its better to be safe than sorry imo. do a little more research and you'll learn alot
