isn't MDF board heavy? my friend had a box made out of this for his speakers and it was heavy. this is probably for those not looking to save weight

well for the eg it weighs the same as the rear seats and carpet but they have a race version ( dont know if they have it for the teg) that dont have the panells and is about 15lbs lighter or something

they don't make them for DA's yet. but when they do, i'll be picking up the kit myself (in the race version, if/when available)

Ok, there was an article in honda tuning about this kit (the EG kit when it came out).

The rear seat delete kit actually weights more than the rear seats and everything that it replaces!!!

the idea behind the kit is that it is a cleaner look than just stripping the rear of your car, and for track purposes (when weight reduction is needed) the kit is easier to remove / reinstall than a full interior including rear seats. so, it makes sense, but at the same time kinda defeats the purpose. you could make your own out of balsa wood, just dont plan on putting anything on top of it (i keed i keed)

someone should make their own and let us know how to do it...or maybe ill do it this weekend...i just need to find out where to get the right type of board and matching carpet...

well matching carpet you might be able to get some from a honda dealer... but what kind of wood would u you use? it would have to be fairly durable but at the same time light weight.

aha use cardboard.. jk jk maybe fiberglass? is that strong enough? make a template out of wood, and then lay the fiberglass over it for a perfect fit, then it would just be a matter of laying the right carpet over it.

or someone that knows how should make a carbon fiber one... i would buy it for sure, light weight and strong cant go wrong with that.

fiberglass is too brittle. why do you think body kits always get cracked? you might be able to get away with thinner MDF
