cat or leave no cat

in my 95 civic when i bought it it was straight pipe in to a cheap auto zone muffler My question is should i leave it this way or should i put a highflow or stock cat on it im sure with the 1.5 that came with the car this proballay helped but not so sure with the ls now

Get a high flow cat. Carsound, Random Technology and Vibrant all make pretty good cats that flow well and still pass emissions easily

Im a fan of Vibrant performance exhaust components. Thats what I had on my Talon.

I don't have any cats. It's cheaper, I still pass emissions and the 4G63 doesn't sound like complete ass without them like most N/A B18's. I would be a good samaritan and put one on the GST but I got a full length downpipe for practically nothing so I just went with it.

A flow cat won't reduce power very much at all on a N/A car with bolt-ons. They flow very well. The possible loss isn't really isn't a measurable amount. Variations from run to run on a dyno can show bigger power changes than what you would probably see by installing a high flow cat instead of a test pipe. That's why I say it's not hardly a measurable amount of difference
