and its not worth the time nor money to boost a sohc
it's not? since when?

I've seen over 300 hp out of boosted D motors... My build was planning for 250 daily while still getting over 30mpg... I think that's worth the time and money.

:thumbs up

Ok so are all the tards done posting a bunch of shit they know nothing about.

You have a d16 basically, it's not the zc that most secluded Americans are used to so excuse the rudeness. On the stock motor you can get away with boosting around 6-7 pounds. There is nothing wrong with sohc or non-vtec motors. The only weak point of that motor is the rods. Even without upgrading them and the pistons you can still easily squeeze 220+ out of the motor with enough torque to run the b series into the ground.
Tell my friend that, he's on his third transmission.

Is it an auto? They have weak shift forks. Hey they make adapter plates for a reason.

No he has a manual, he was looking into the D to B conversion. Seems like buying a D series trans for $50 is working for him. The second one had a quiafe too.

Thats the exact reason why i wanna turbo a zc/D16 sohc!
Thank god theres some1 that understands me! Cheers Aussie!
Can you imagine if i dragged a b18c teg and letting the driver know i'm only driving in d16 sohc NON-VTEC then suddenly i blew him away! Can you imagine how i would feel! Letting the lil guy come into place!

Thats why i wanna turbo a sohc non vtec in a teg! The only thing that worrys me is reliability!!!!!!! I'm not made of money!

Wait... What?
Sure, you could make that power if thats what you had, but I don't think it would be very smart to swap one of those engines in...

PS, does anybody wanna send be a dohc engine for free?

In ireland the price of a B18c is over 3000 euros thats around 2500 dollars!

and a turbo kit for a bseries is 3750 euros including professional fit!

You americans are lucky with all your honda needs and specialists!!!

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(:(
Not to nit pick, but 3000 Euros at the current exchange rate is closer to $4,380 American. Thats right around the price on most sites that import them. So your not seeing too much of a price difference from us.

I've seen over 500. I've seen all motor D16s running 10 sec 1/4 mile passes/
...no kidding. Ever hear of Bisi Ezerioha?

I'm not saying that the d series is better than the b series. IMO nothing is better than the b, not yet. I'm saying that since it came in the car, why not just leave it and build on it. It's not a bad motor, it just has some weaknesses but most engines do.

On top of that I really could care less about beating a b if I had a d.

ok kinda skipped last part of thread so no one yell at me! lol but i would say get the dohc non vtec b18 it will do you good in the end and then the turbo in time! but intil then you could spend little money on lowering it and getting a short shifter small things like that will help! Technically its all up to you!

I like when you see guys build motors that are not the norm... there are tons of people that build B blocks. I had a sohc in an accord, it was a vtec and I wanted to build it just bc it was a sohc.... I like having something that people dont expect.
