you'll be pretty hard-pressed to find a *cheap* vtec engine in good condition. you wont find one with low mileage for less than $2000-3000. your car sounds like its been around awhile. how's the body of it? any rust?

to transform your car into a gsr, it would be cheaper to just buy one. you could find a 94-97 gsr with just over 100,000 miles for around $4000 maybe less.

if you bought parts piece by piece you'll already be spending $2000 minimum on the motor...you'll still need the full leather interior, a set of fat fives/blades/snowflakes, transmission, ecu, full suspension (springs, struts, bars, etc), rear spoiler, and of course the DOHC VTEC emblem for the rear :pimp:.

maybe consider selling your car and buying a gsr. your in brooklyn so you have a better chance of finding one than those that live out in the sticks.

i completely agree, just buy another teg and you'll save thousands. a full gsr block can go from $3000-$5000 plus shipping, but that includes everything you need from the tranny to the ecu. Imo, just buy a gsr and sell your ls if you really want a gsr. but then again i would stay with your ls for the sole reason that your engine is the perfect canvas for an FI build, just a suggestion.

Wait... What?
yea, much cheaper to just buy a gsr, might want to consider building your engine and doing turbo though
