High-Reving=Safe???

Well my brother wants to get some sort of chip for the Integra, that takes off the rev-limiter and speed governor, I think the xhip re-sets the redline to like 8500rpm. I thought I remember reading that the LS connection rods aren't very good for that much high-rpm driving. Is that true?
Thanks,

the facotory puts a governor on for a reason...number 1 safety, and 2 thats the maximum that the car is built to handle. and its not even built to handle those stresses that long. a gsr and type-r have higher rev limits because they are built to handle them... dont do it...

if u rev a stock ls to 8500...im pretty sure you will see a rod go through the block lol...or something similar of that nature

you'd probably float the valves, or crack a retainer and flat out drop the valves into the cylinders....

But sure, I mean you "could" do it if you wanted...

just keep that shit stock, cause a more practical answer would be, are you really going to get it up that high anyways? OEM puts stuff on for a reason. keep your ecu unmolested
