About two days ago my brother and I installed the BLOX turbo camshaft in his GSR. He upgraded the valves to Ferrera, skunk2 dual valve springs and ti retainers. He has JE 9:1 piston and stock sleeves AND RODS . When we started the car...there is a loud noise which seems to be coming from the INTAKE valves...AND, when we rev the motor the knocking sound is louder!!! ...I called my cousin and he told me the set the valve clearance at .007mm for intake and .009 for exhaust...(according to him and Hanes repair manual).

The car also DIES when you give it a little gas @ idle...the car acts like it's suffocating for air when you tap on the gas pedal. ANY HELPFUL SUGGESTIONS TO THE PROBLEM???

NOW TO MY CAR. It was fine not too long ago but recently the car started to have a knocking sound that I know for sure is not the Crower camshaft or valves because it's louder than them. It has not a high pick knock but more of a lower tone knocking sound. I'm thinking it's the bearings but I'm not sure and I don't wan to take the motor apart if it's not that...

any helpful suggestion to the problem????

NOTE: please try to address the problem(s) you are answering and which car. THANKS GUYS!

 it's probablly the valves smacking the pistons.

Im not sure about the Blox, but I know the Crower cams have to be degreed in. Did you do that?
"

---yup did that

"it's probablly the valves smacking the pistons."

-----no because took off the head and everything looks clean...no scratch on piston or valves...and valves looks fine.

Wow can't believe I missed this one. Here's your problem. The valves are supposed to be adjusted between .006in and .007in (0.15mm - 0.19mm) intake side and .007in and .008in (0.17mm - 0.21mm) exhaust side.

Those clearances are way to tight. You will be very lucky if that didn't fuck up your valve stem, retainer, and cams.
