running rich

i just got out of jail after 7 month and my car is running rich anyone out there know how to fix it please help

could get an adjustable fuel pressure reg. and turn it down a little...stock is supposed to be around 40-45 and around 50 at WOT

lmao.....If it's a stock fuel system I would just run it for awhile with some higher octane(93). Go ahead and buy some octane booster and run that through a full tank. My guess is that your o2 sensor is gunked up from sitting and is over adjusting. Just try driving it for a while and it will prob go away. If it doesn't after a few tanks of gas let us know.

I'm going to try this out. I'm running rich too.

i put 101 octane in and ran it but it still does the same thing should i go for the adjustable fuel pressure reg?

agreed....if you have a problem with the stock fuel system changing it is NOT the solution. You have a problem somewhere and it needs to be diagnosed. How do you know your running rich? Wideband? Think about it if a car comes into a dealership and it's running rich do the techs lower the fuel pressure? haha

i wouldnt count on smell and bad gas mileage to determine if a car is running rich or lean.

only way to be sure is with a wideband. do yourself a favor and get one if you dont already have one... before you start ripping apart your motor trying to solve a problem that doesnt even exist.

thanks guys, but sorry to say i blew the motor up tuesday now its on to bigger and better thing. was thinking of biulding a frank b20 with my gsr head.

well boys we were too late once again we lost another motor to pointless mistakes and abuse :roll:
