I would say cams/cam gears could be bolt ons since they are not hard to get at,but the cam is a internal part, none the less great part to change, what kind of gains can you get by changing the cam,I'm looking for quicker 0-60 and drag times, top speed is not important to me anymore...what is needed to get a really quick street and strip teggy,I want to dust mild stangs,am I asking for to much.cheers with premium beer all the way.

Some people consider camshafts basic bolt ons I guess. I personally don't.
When I was a newb I was told that a bolt on is a something that you do not have to crack open the motor to install...i.e. the valve cover never comes off...but everyone has their own definitions.

In addition to the basics, how bout pulleys? You could also lose all the dead weight in the car. Dropping 100lbs is going to equal the hp gains from an intake or a header.

pulleys are a no no. weight reduction is a great way and easy. you can remove the backseats and seatbelts. i would pull the power steering out no question. manual rack > power. air conditioning and air components. you could get solid motor mounts and then remove your lower torque mounts and brackets for more weight reduction

I would much rather have a lighter alt and power steering pulley, than just start yanking things. AC and powersteering are a must if this is your daily driver and you live anywhere where it gets remotely warm. If you yank your powersteering, your car will be lighter and your engine bay will look a lot cleaner. Unfortunatly your car will handle a lot worse. I've had a unorthodox crank pulley in my car for over 5 years and have suffored no ill effects.
