Head lifted under boost maybe?

i think that's all that happened...you have some catch-can garbage that backed up into your valve cover. Because if you say the car is still driving fine and not overheating i don't think the head lifted. If it lifts once it will lift again.

well i wasnt having overheating issues... until tonight. im running a civic half size. its a single core, but its twice as thick as stock. anyway, when i was going to bleed the system the other day, i took the cap off; started the car and waited. the fan came on and all, but i never saw any coolant get sucked in or move. it just sat there. shouldnt i see the coolant moving? oh and the highest i let it get was half way and i turned the heat on and it dropped back to 1/4 of the way. oil looks fine other than the oil cap. i am so confused. i might pull the cams and retorque my head studs again just to check them. the oil on the dipstick is fine, but the cap has a milky residue. car still has all the power it ever did.

since i cant see coolant getting sucked in, im starting to think my thermo is sticking in the closed position. i know normally they fail open, but my car makes everything very complicated.

it started getting hot on the way home tonight, so right when i got home, i popped the hood and went out to check it out. the radiator and radiator cap was not even hot!! it was luke warm at best, but the upper radiator hose had a ton of pressure on it. thermo failing in closed position?

i rock a lower temp thermo. Whens the last time that radiator had a flush?

i red a few posts up..that Milky residue you see on your cap is probably from humidity. I freaked out a few yrs back when I 1st got the srt4. I had never seen it before I thought I popped the headgasket. But I went on SRT forums with pics and people informed me its kinda normal.

How much boost are you running. The only time I seen the head lift under boost it was always running a very high boost level. I saw a Subie that was running 30psi do it, but thats the only thing I have personally seen up close after it happened.

well i pulled the cams today and went to retorque my head studs in case they got loose; but they were all at 72 ft/lbs still. and i used the arp lube. also swapped the thermostat and tried to bleed the system, but no coolant will flow through the system. the fans will kick on and everything, but the coolant never got pulled in. the radiator just went in a few months ago, so i doubt it needs a flush or anything. i guess there might be air bubbles somewhere, but without the coolant actually flowing and moving, i dont see how any could get out that would be there. maybe my water pump is fucked? it only had like 1500 miles on it though.

Well since you replaced the T-Stat, you either have blockage somewhere or I guess a broken water pump

i spent a long ass time bleeding it and eventually a big ass air bubble came out. it seems to be alright now.
