Was wondering how the flow is in this type of tubing. Would be using it for a 'do it yourself' icebox. Someone told me the air gets broken up passing through this kind of tube as opposed to solid tubing.

i'd recommend solid tubing just for the obvious reasons... but who am i to talk. if you wanna do the diy icebox just find some sort of ebay intake where the filter is in the vicinity of the stock airbox, then just use that box. i know some of the injen sri's can be used for a diy icebox thing.

I did the DIY 4" Icebox and and used the stock piping. I notice no difference between mine and my friends solid pipe CAI. Plus you get total sleeper status

Yea i guess I'm trying to avoid the pvc piping for something easier because I may go CAI, but like you say 98_gsr I believe icebox version is just as good if not better than CAI.

Just bought the piping for the 4" version. I noticed the straight 10' pvc pipe is thinner than the elbows, plus it's grey. I wish the elbows were as thin. The elbows are thin just not as thin as the straight pipe. Oh well using glue will help keep wait off.

Well I have to say, I put together a quick version of this with 3" adjustable metal ducts with a velocity stack horn and I noticed a difference. Ducting from Menard's I think like $12.00 with one extra duct I didn't need, and horn from Pep boys for like $20.00. Hopefully I will see a difference going to the solid 4" tubing. I hope to start this and have done by the end of this weekend, but it's a holiday and all.
