hey i did some calculations on garrett's website...these are the numbers that i put in...

Target HP = 425whp
Disp. = 1.8L (109.836 CI)
Max RPM = 7500
Volumetric Efficenty = 97%
Intake manifold Temp = 110 Deg.
A/F valve = 12:1

I came up with you need around 30 lbs/min @ 5000 rpms and around 45 lbs/min @ 7500 rpms of air to achieve around that goal and boosting around 25-30 psi

With that being said and based on the compressor maps that i looked at you prolly wanna go with a descent sized turbo like a GT3782...and it will give you room to grow cuz it supports 350-550 hp

Thanks for the info but after talking to Patrick I think I'm going with a t3/60-1 turbo with a .63 a/r

y? is my info not correct or something?
i wouldnt say its not correct, but there are a lot more turbos than the few garrett lists on their website. garrett even makes turbos they dont have on there. the gt3782 is a pretty big turbo, and not cheap. i believe it comes in a twin scroll housing and just isnt a normal choice. nothing necessarily wrong with it, but it just made me laugh. im assuming you dont have any first hand experience with a turbo car (nothing wrong with that), and just plugged some numbers in on a website and said this is what you should go with.

yea your right i have never owned a turbo'ed car before...i was basically comparing calculations with compressor maps...i knew that garrett made the T3 series but i though those were their older turbos...

i was kinda of speculating putting down that turbo choice as my answer to his situation cuz it did seem too big...

nah they still make all the t3/t4 and t4 turbos, just dont have them on their website.

I emailed the guy about the kit here's his reply

I had the manifold custom made. it had a hairline crack recently, never leaked boost but i mig welded the crack anyway to be safe. I can guarantee it wont leak. It is a b-series t3 stainless steel tubular manifold with a 38mm wg flange, plus relocation elbow if needed. power steering compatible. 5 bolt downpipe with flexpipe tapped for EGT and 2 oxygen bung, 2.5' steel piping, couplers and tbolt clamps, 38mm tial wg 10psi spring, greddy type-s bov, dsm 450cc blacktop injectors, bar and plate intercooler 3.5' core, oil feed and drain lines with firewall relocation and i think i even have spark plugs 1 step colder around i will include.

used log - 200
used tial - 150
used bov - 125
used ebay ic and pipes - 100
dsm injectors with clips - 100
oil lines - 80

its like 100 cheaper than you could buy anywhere. id ask for pics of the collector and rewelded spot on that manifold. if it has cracked once, its possible it could crack again at a different spot. it looked like an sls log manifold, but that wouldnt be custom. those ebay ic's work fine, but i am not a fan of the diy piping kits. too many couplers and most times the couplers that come with it are crappy.
