i figured id start a thread just to argue with eveyone who knocks on ebay knock off turbo kits, my friend bought one for his 2001 integra non vtec. HEs running stock internals with stock injectors, the only upgrade he did was a FPR and a fuel rail. HE bought the kit for $600 and hes had it for almost a year with NO problems. Things pulls hard all day. Jsut thought id let you know that u dont have to spend 1500$ for a name brand product. Even tho im sure everyone is going to critize me becase iv read alot of bashing on them on other forums before from ppl who never bought one and i never put any input in because i have never seen a kit before unti lnow

thats great that your friend had success, but ebay intakes, mufflers, and even turbo kits tend to be a collection of cheaply made parts designed to look good perform alright for a little while, and be cheap. im glad for your freind that had success but ebay stuff does not have a reputation for being of great quality.

i understand what you mean, iv bought many knock off parts on ebay some of them were AMAZING while some of them werent quite what i wanted, its a risk, but not one that should be ruled out because theres no a huge GARRETT logo on it

while i agree 100% about some things being great some not, big names in turbo kits did not get big for being crap, they are most likely pretty good if they are popular

i have an ebay intake and its fine... i have had no problems with it. of course i did replace the filter with an AEM dryflow. but all you need for an intake is a peice of pipe, the filter is what counts. so instead of buying a $200 AEM intake you spend 30 on the ebay pipe and then 50 on a quality filter and holy molly you have yourself a quality intake. :thumbs up

but at the same time i wouldnt buy a turbo kit off of ebay :( that is something that if it is messed up then bye bye engine.

Quality > Quantity.
x2 man...another solution to a nice descent turbo kit is the kit on H-T from tunerzimage..
Tunerzimage Kit

i called them and asked them a lot of questions reguarding the quality of the kit...all of the components are made overseas but the kit makes good power...bisimoto (sp) tuned their kits on their dyno and made good power...i called bisimoto and asked them about the kit the tuner said quote, "it is a lot better than a ebay kit, but not as good as something like peakboost. If you are looking for a turbo kit and this is your first setup, this is the kit to get." i think imma order one soon for my bros RS Teg.

I <3 2.4l's
No really they dont.

I know a local SRT4 owner who build his own .50 trim turbo kit. used an ebay turbo, took it to shop and it resealed and balanced and put down 447 whp with it.

and the ebay intakes....um..its all the aluminum piping. Put a good filter on the ebay tube, what else do you need?

only thing ive bought engine wise from ebay was a aluminum radiator and intake for my gsr...never had an issue with either of them...but i cant speak bout the turbo kits..but i've heard about both sides of the coin

yea a big problem with the ebay turbo kits is the SS turbo manifold welds crack after a while and mess everything up
