I'd pass on the IM until you have a little more head work done. Do the basic I/H/E which you prob. already have. Then upgrade your cams and cam gears. If your looking for more power.

is that easy???? sorry buttin in your thread. about how long of a process??
No offense, but you should not be trying to tackle cam installation by yourself. Judging by your question of whether you needed to pull the motor, it is safe to say that you are beter leaving this to a shop or someone who has experience performing this. Reason bieng, you WILL fuck your motor up if installed incorrectly. I saw a guy put a cam in wrong(not lined up properly) in a civic (single cam) and ended up snapping 2 valves off just trying to turn the motor over. If you know what you are doing, it is not very difficult, but I can't stress enough how important it is to line everything up. I could have probably done it myself on my car, but I choose to have a shop do it (one that I was confidant they had the mechanical apptitude and abiltiy to perform the insatallation). Also, what cams are you looking at purchasing? Anything stage 2 or above should/will require new retainers and springs. It is also a good idea to have a valve lash performed at the same time. How many miles are on your car? If you are approaching the 100k mark, you should also consider a new water pump and timing belt. Cam gears are also something to consider-but have a shop do the adjusting on a dyno-not some friend in his garage (unless he knows what he is doing). I guess personally I would think the next logical bolt on mod would be to go with some pulleys. Adding a alt and power steering pulley is not too dificult, and will give you some extra power. To get the full effect of the cams, you will also need a new IM and TB. One of these components by itself will not make a huge difference, but the 3 of the together are what can give you a nice gain. Anyyway, thats my 2 cents.

Get a good I/H/E package to start with. Research, research, research. It'll only help you in the long run.
