GPS anti-theft device

Looking into buying an anti-theft GPS unit. Don't want it for navigation, just in case the worst happens. Ideally able to retrieve the car, maybe even catch the bastards (hypothetical, car hasn't actually been stolen). Anyone have one on their car? Or know more about them?

Which ones are the best?
How much do they cost?

Use to drive an SI and some prick tried to steal it out of my driveway. Thankfully the alarm stopped him. He cut the horn so I didn't even notice until the next morning. (honda factory alarm, thank god for the kill switch). Needless to say it's left me somewhat paranoid.

hello
they ar not good at all!!! if a thief wants to take your car he could break the anttena off to buy himself some time to strip the car!!! and there aint to many places to hide it! cuz usally the thief will take your interior apart and find it! you are better off slowing the thief down by striping' your car yourself!!! lol computer/fuses/wires/sensors....etc

Why so serious?
not if you get lojack early warning system

if your car moves without authorization (Special microchip on keychain) you will get a call on your cell phone

Yeah, I've read about the movement alert. Apparently there are some systems that allow you to remotely shut the car down too. That would be awesome. "Yeah I just shut him down on the corner of fuck & you. He should be stopped in the middle of the road." Now if only I could lock the bastard inside too.

But anyway, I digress :). How do these things work? Would I have to put an extra antenna on the top of the car?

I've heard a little about Lo-Jak. Doesn't that require a monthly fee though?
