DUI FTL!lol i had to get rid of the car because i had a DUI =[ but im getting another one soon! and its gonna be better YEEEEEEEE meanwhile. . . carpoolin' and hitch hikin' is good for now since gas prices are high =]
I'm more interested in a couple big meets a year, as opposed to weekly ones. I don't have much time for 'em.

Well ok, but lets look at the advantages/disadantages of each and feel free to add to the list if you like
First the large meets;
Advantage
Larger meets usually means more fun as it will likley be a full out party.
Easier for people from far distances to shedule and join in.
Disadvantages
Large groups of imports tends to recieve alot of attention and not always the good kind.
Reserving a big enough location to hold the meet, that will actually allow it.
More likley that the majority of people will not know each other.
if you miss it you have to wait a very long time till the next.
The smaller more frequent meets
Advantages
More chances to meet local people
Not as big of an issue if you miss a meet because another one is really soon
better networking with locals once you get to know each other
much higher chance of creating solid friendships
More oportunities to share information and ask questions in a casual way (not getting blasted on a public forum by accidentaly asking a stupid question)
Lots of locations to choose from around sac so every week we could meet some place new for some fun.
Disadvantages
Smaller meets have a much higher responsibilty to be well behaved when meeting in local places (not really a disadvantage just something to be aware of)
Someone usually needs to call ahead to what ever location we are going to meet at and let them know that we are interested in meeting there and get an OK from at least one of the businesses there. This is entirely dependant on the number of people we have showing up though anything over 10 should warrent a call ahead.
Well thats all I can think of off the top of my head. Thoughts?

you obviously have no appreciation for nature or how blessed you are to have the american river parkway basically in your backyard.with the amout of bodily fluids in that river, i think it would melt the intertube
Back where im from, the napa river is basically a cesspool ... brown murky water polluted as fuck and smelles. Apparently back in the 50s the nearby sidewalks would crack and the reason all the ghetto ass houses were by the river is cause it was hella cheap.
A couple of beer cans and .000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% of the river happening to be bodily fluids hardly would "melt your innertube" or anything else for that matter that happens to contact the water.

I have been to 4 or 5 meets there since I found out about the meet and I can say yes everyone I have met there has been extremely nice.

the american river is nasty though. I enjoy walking my dog and stuff on the trails around it, just not in it.
